An Alberta teacher says a school in Libya is making a false claim, saying it’s teaching Alberta’s curriculum to its students.
Carol Hagen and her husband joined the school after reading a news story about it which included a photo of the Canadian Ambassador to Libya, praising the institution’s Canadian curriculum.
Instead, Hagen, who’s from Medicine Hat and studied at the University of Alberta, says the school doesn’t have one English text or work book.
She also claims the students are charged thousands of dollars in tuition, but they have yet to be paid for their teaching duties, though the school’s owner disputes that claim.
Hagen tells the Calgary Herald that she wants the school to drop the claim it’s teaching the curriculum from this province. She and her husband also want to be paid so they can leave the country.
