Avalanche victim identified

Friends have identified the Alberta man killed in an avalanche near Golden B.C. on Friday as 29-year-old Shane Schroeder.

Schroeder, an electrician from Edmonton, was caught in an avalanche out-of-bounds at the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort during an outing with friends.

Friends say Schroeder was an avid snowboarder with a big heart.
