Star Trek scammer pleads guilty

An Illinois man decided to go boldly where no man has gone before and he could go to jail for it.

56 year old Howard Leventhal has plead guilty to impersonating whole sections of Health Canada as a part of $25-million scheme involving fake Star Trek inspired technology.

The device was the equivalent to the show’s ‘Tricorder’.

The National Post reports as a bid to sell the product in the U.S. Leventhal said Health Canada had invested $4-million in to the product.

He could face 22 years in prison and a $2-million fine as a result.
