Crews remain on scene of a major house fire in northwest Calgary looking for hot spots following a Christmas Day blaze.
The fire, on Bow Crescent in the community of Bowness, began around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday and was contained to just a single home.
Battalion Chief Al Magwood tells 660News the four occupants and two cats all managed to safely escape, but the inside of the home was burnt out.
“Yeah the largest volume of fire was in the back part of the house, in what looked like was the kitchen area, but we’re not sure if that was actually the origin of the fire or where it travelled to,” explains Magwood.
The investigation into the official cause begins Thursday.
