A man found guilty of torturing his former roommate and business associate is appealing his conviction and his dangerous offender status.
Dustin Paxton was found guilty of aggravated assault in February 2012 after his roommate was dropped outside a Regina hospital suffering from serious wounds.
The victim testified he suffered beatings nearly every day.
The court determined Paxton to be a threat to public safety.
The 33 year old was given the Dangerous Offender status last month and given an indeterminate prison sentence.
