New appointees to Alberta’s Economic Development Authority Board

The province has appointed twelve business leaders to the Alberta Economic Development Authority Board.
The appointees are from the financial, energy, agriculture and technology industries.
Premier Alison Redford said it’s a part of bringing the province into the future.
“We know that Alberta right now, is an economic engine in the country and we know that’s been because of energy, but what comes next?” she asked.
The appointees receive no remuneration, other than reimbursement of travel expenses.
The authority was improved during the 2013 fall session of the legislature, when the Alberta Economic Development Authority Amendment Act was passed.
