Snowy owls fan out

Birders across the continent say they’re excited about the resurgence of the Snowy Owl.
Across the eastern half of North America from Hamilton to Ottawa to Florida, there has been a surge in the number of the birds.
Enthusiasts call such a boom and erruption and say they happen every 10 to 15 years.
They say the abundance of lemmings, the owls’ favourite food, means that more baby owls have survived.
Canadian experts have launched an online fundraising campaign to outfit owls with GPS trackers so they can follow their winter movements.
