Hundreds of WestJet passengers finally made it to Calgary late Thursday night.
To make up for days of backlog, the airline chartered a massive 747 to take around 470 passengers and 1100 bags to YYC.
It was a relief for many to finally make it to their destination.
Spokesperson Robert Palmer says they’ve now re- booked all of their guests with flights after hundreds were cancelled because of the extreme cold weather in Toronto.
“That’s not to say that everyone is home, becasue it’s going to take a couple of more days before that happens, but the point is nobody doesn’t have a flight,” he said.
While some passengers are now home, the journey isn’t over for many who connected to another flight Friday morning.
