Calgary-based Enmax to power Edmonton

Calgary is powering Edmonton…literally.

The City of Edmonton has announced Calgary-owned utility Enmax will supply power to city buildings in the capital, like the library, police headquarters and district offices, as well as street lights and traffic signals.

Edmonton officials say the deal with Enmax will save them about a $1 million per year over the five-year agreement.

The City of Edmonton, which owns its own utility Epcor, publicly tendered the contract and Enmax won the bid.
