Man faces charges in LRT blaze

Charges are pending against a man in his 20’s, following a fire on a downtown LRT car.

Police told 660News, just after midnight Tuesday, a person with a lighter damaged a number of seats on a CTrain car, while setting a book and some garbage ablaze.

The driver of the train had to use an extinguisher to douse the flames.

No injuries report but the LRT car is now in the shop for repairs; damage is pegged around $10,000.

The suspected fire bug was picked up by LRT security personnel and turned over to police.
