Cattle seized from a Drumheller area ranch for a second time

More cattle have been seized at a Drumheller area ranch over animal welfare concerns.
Roland Lines, Communications Manager at Alberta SPCA, said about 100 head were taken into custody Thursday from the same ranch that saw 300 cattle seized in 2011.
“These are different animals so this is a separate investigation but our access to the property was based on a consent order from a previous file,” said Lines.
The owner has 10 days to try to reclaim the animals before they would go to auction to pay for the investigation.
Few details can be released as investigation is ongoing and the 2011 case is still before the courts.
