Feds launch campaign for Non-Smoking Week

The federal government is launching a five-year tobacco cessation campaign to mark the national Non-Smoking Week

Prime Minister Harper says in a statement that the Break it Off campaign is aimed at helping smokers aged 20 to 24 to quit.

The campaign will use social media to target young Canadians who have a higher rate of smoking than the national average.

Harper says that while the work his government has undertaken to eliminate smoking is producing encouraging results, there are still too many Canadians who smoke.
