Climate change could have impact on future Olympics

The long-range forecast says it will be sunny and 17C on the opening day of the Sochi Olympics and a new report warns, global warming could jeopardize future winter games.

The joint Canadian-Austrian study warns that at the rate the earth is warming, only 6 of the last 19 winter Olympic locations would be cold enough to stage the games again by the end of this century.

The study includes Vancouver, but the research suggests Calgary would still be cold enough to host the games after 2080.
