Charges dropped against dead inmate

Criminal charges have been dropped against a potential dangerous offender after he was found beaten to death in jail on Christmas Eve.

Curtis Dale Hill, 34, was accused in four violent incidents including the assault of Calgary Remand Centre guards and causing mischief.

He was serving time for assaulting a Calgary limo driver when he was killed on December 24th at the Edmonton Remand Centre.

Hill had been ordered to undergo a psychiatric assessment to see if he met dangerous offender criteria before he died.

All of his charges have now been withdrawn.

No one has been charged so far in Hill’s death.
