Two Calgary Peace Officers are being credited with possibly saving a life this weekend.

On Saturday February 1st, officers D’Arcy Hare and Bob Hope were driving over the Langevin Bridge when they spotted someone on the Bow River hanging on to the ice.

They parked their vehicle, called for backup and then descended the snow covered bank to pull the woman from the river.

They dragged her from the frigid water to safety some 50 feet away.

She was then taken to hospital for treatment.
