Day 13 Olympic Recap: Two golds for Canada

Canada has won its fourth straight Olympic gold medal in women’s hockey – and it happened in dramatic fashion.
Marie-Philip Poulin scored in overtime to beat the Americans 3-2 in a thrilling championship final.
Poulin also scored with 55 seconds left in the third period to send the game to overtime.
Brianne Jenner scored Canada’s first goal at 16:34 of the third.
Jennifer Jones won Olympic gold, surviving a nail-biting curling final to defeat Sweden 6-3.
The Canadians stole two in the ninth after Sweden’s Maria Prtytz wrecked her final shot.
The Winnipeg skip has now added the Olympic title to the world championship she won in 2008 as well as four Canadian crowns.
It’s Canada’s second women’s curling gold. The late Sandra Schmirler won the first in Nagano, Japan, in 1998.
Canada’s Rosalind Groenewoud finished seventh in the women’s ski halfpipe.
The Calgary skier was a distant 11th after the first of two runs at Rosa Khutor Extreme Park.
Canadians Kaetlyn Osmond and Gabrielle Daleman finished well down in the women’s figure skating singles standings.
Osmond was a distant 13th, four spots ahead of Daleman, while Russian teenager Adelina Sotnikova, ninth at least year’s world championship, captured the gold medal.
Disappointment for Canadian skicross competitor Brady Leman.
The Calgary skier fell during the men’s final to finish fourth.
A trio of French competitors swept the medals, the first time that country had swept the medals at a Winter games competition.
