Public meeting to debate high speed rail link

High speed rail will be the big topic of a public meeting Monday night in Calgary.

The Alberta government is asking for feedback on the idea to put in a bullet train service linking our city, Edmonton and Red Deer.

A study back in 2009, estimated the cost of a rapid transit service would come to around $3 to $20-billion depending on what technology was used.

Passenger rail service between Calgary and Edmonton stopped almost three decades ago.

Public engagement meetings will also be held this week in Edmonton and Red Deer.

You can have your say at the Coast Plaza Hotel in the northeast at 6:30 p.m.
