More Canadian athletes return from Sochi

After hearing the cheers in Sochi, Canada’s Olympians heard one more roar after touching down at YYC Tuesday afternoon.
Athletes continue to return home in groups, the latest being bobsledders and speed skaters, including Gilmore Junio and Denny Morrison.
Junio of course, famously gave up his spot in the 1,000 meter event to teammate Morrison, who went on to win a silver medal in the event.
Morrison brought home the medal but many credit Junio for it, including Morrison.
Junio is now looking forward to 2018.
“The Olympic medal is the one I want,” he said. “I won’t touch Denny’s medal until I get my own, That’s the kind of hockey player mentality, don’t touch the Stanley Cup until you touch it.”
Morrison said he may start skating in 2016 ahead of the games in Pyeongchang.
Silver-medal winner in team figure skating, Kaetlyn Osmond, was on the same flight.
She was surprised by the warm welcome at the airport.
“I wasn’t really expecting there to be such a crowd,” she said “To be back, it feels great, after everything that’s happened in this last month, it’s amazing.”
