Women more likely to call in sick

All joking about the man flu aside, a British study reveals women are 50 per cent more likely to call in sick than men.

Researchers found women take an average five sick days a year, compared to fewer than four for men.

Experts say that’s because women are more likely to have to use sick days to care for ailing children or elderly relatives.

Neck and back pain were the most common reasons to call in sick, followed by colds, stress and depression.
