High River parades stay afloat

New organizers, same tradition.
The 2014 Little Britches and Santa Claus parades in High River will be organized by the Town, instead of The High River & District Chamber of Commerce.
Deputy Mayor, Cathy Couey, said the Chamber has other priorities because of last June’s flood.
“The town recognizes that the Chamber really needs to focus on supporting and advocating for our business community and recognize that running and organizing the parades takes an incredible amount of work,” Couey said.
The High River & District Chamber Of Commerce has been organizing both parades for more than 20 years.
The Town is currently looking for individuals, service groups or organizations to sit on the organizing committee and/or volunteer to help with activities during the day of the event.
