Co-op Calgary introduces hormone-free meats

A local grocery store chain has launched a new line of antibiotic and hormone free meats.

Calgary Co-op is introducing “Co-op Perfect”: locally produced pork, beef and goat that provides an alternative for members concerned about where their food comes from.

The animals are all raised in an open range or open pen environment.

CEO Deane Collinson says it’s all about giving customers “more choice.”

The new line of meats will be available in Calgary, High River, Strathmore and Airdrie.
