New art gallery in an iconic building

It’s a change in subject for one Calgary building from science to art.

The Centennial Planetarium will be re-purposed as an art gallery.

Contemporary Calgary is forwarding the idea; the building was vacated in 2011 by the TELUS World of Science in 2011.

It was built in 1967 to honour Canada’s Centennial and later housed the Calgary Space and Science Centre.

There is no timeline to complete the planning process so there will likely be some interim uses of the building.
