Where does the time go? Daylight saving time returns Sunday

Daylight saving time (DST) kicks in this weekend when we move our clocks ahead one hour Sunday morning.

It was first implemented by the Germans in WWI to save electricity, and the Americans followed suit in 1918.

Now it mostly benefits leisure activity like golf, they benefit nearly $400 Million a year because of the change.

Most say they are glad to give up an hour of sleep if it means springtime is that much closer, but others are not nearly as excited.

“I hate it, because last week we were celebrating that we get to get up and get to school in daylight and next week we’ll be getting to school in darkness again” one woman said.

This new mom is open to re-evaluating things. “I’m indifferent, but now that I have a baby I might hate it” she said.

Clocks spring forward Sunday morning at 2:00a.m..
