Redford’s leadership in question as Tory MLAS meet

The premier will be on the hot seat this weekend.

Alison Redford is meeting with the the Tory’s executive board Saturday to discuss recent problems emerging within the party.

A group of MLA’s will be meeting without the premier to also discuss issues.

The party’s 52 member executive board is not made up of elected officials but they do hold significant power within the party.

It’s not all negative talk about Redford, with the Deputy Premier Dave Hancock saying Redford is a strong leader.

Hancock said Len Webber, who crossed the floor Thursday to become an Independent, is a very sad man who was unhappy about losing the cabinet post he held under former Premier Ed Stelmach.

NDP Leader Brian Mason said the premier and her problems are affecting the entire legislator.

There is no telling what could happen by Monday.
