Hitmen wrap up regular season

Hockey will soon intensify at the Saddledome, as the Calgary Hitmen start their playoff run this coming week.

Saturday is the team’s final game of the regular season.

The Hitmen are tied for first place in the Eastern Conference with Edmonton.

But despite the on-ice success, General Manager Mike Moore said attendance took a bit of a dip this season.

“We’re down slightly from last year, but last year is obviously a bit of an anomaly with the lockout season in the NHL, that drew more hockey fans to us,” Moore said. “But we’re right in the ballpark of where we’ve been over the last 10 years.

The Hitmen and Kootenay Ice faceoff at 7:00 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
