Sylvan Lake residents are once again busy on their computers and phones, clicking for their community.
Online voting is underway for the Kraft Hockeyville final four, and the central Alberta town is one of the contenders.
“The monetary stuff is $100,000 for arena upgrades and an NHL exhibition game, but that pales in comparison to what it does for community spirit,” said Graham Parsons, spokesperson for Sylvan Lake’s campaign.
Residents were inspired to seek new recreational funding after the roof of the town’s old arena collapsed in January.
Sylvan Lake is up against Salmon Arm, B.C. in the west final.
The community with the most votes will advance to the championship round.
