Calgary MLA resigns from PC Caucus

It’s a decision she claims has been on her mind for about a year.
Donna Kennedy-Glans, MLA for Calgary-Varsity, says she is resigning her post and leaving the Progressive Conservative caucus.
The associate minister will now sit as an Independent.
Kennedy-Glans says PC’s have a culture of entitlement, but this is not an attack on anyone in her former party.
“There are wonderful, ethical people in this government,” said Kennedy-Glans. “They’re grounded, they’re wise, they’re beautiful people. We just can’t seem to get change happening.”
She said she no longer believes the 43-year-old Progressive Conservative government can make the changes needed for a better Alberta.
Kennedy-Glans says her situation is than that of backbencher Len Webber who also recently left the Tories while calling Premier Alison Redford a bully.
“Mr. Webber’s response, I think, comes from a different place. His relationship with the premier is different than mine,” said Kennedy-Glans.
Kennedy-Glans adds she has only ever had a 10 minute meeting with the premier.
