Calgary family charged with identity theft

Five members of a Calgary family are facing fraud charges.
Police say they stole personal identification from parked vehicles in Calgary, Banff, and Invermere, B.C..
With the information, Jennifer, Andrew, Carol and Darcy Shepherd, as well as Sarah Savoie, applied for Home Depot credit cards.
These credit cards were then used to purchase Home Depot gift cards at locations in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Airdrie, Okotoks and Cranbrook, B.C..
These fraudulently purchased gift cards were then sold through online sites at a discounted price.
Investigators believe there were 19 victims of this identity fraud, worth an estimated $56,000.
