Busy Friday night for Calgary police

Three people are in hospital after two separate incidents last night that kept Calgary Police on their toes.
Friday night kicked off with a double assault.
The first call came in around 9:45p.m. from the Saddletown LRT Station where a group of six young men assaulted a couple of people.
Police say the group of assailants were punching a man in the face when the first call came in, and after police searched the area they located another victim, who had been clubbed in the head with a flashlight-like object.
The second victim was taken to hospital with head injuries, and there is no update on his condition.
Police are still searching for suspects.
Dect. Steve Adair said there was also a vehicle-pedestrian crash overnight at 17th Ave and 48th St. S.E.
“At approximately 1 a.m. [Saturday] morning, a vehicle struck two pedestrians. Those pedestrians [were] transported to hospital, one has a possible broken leg,” explained Adair.
He added the other pedestrian sustained only minor injuries.
The driver is fully cooperating with investigators, and so far there is no indication that alcohol was a factor in the collision.
