A 22-year-old man is in critical condition after major crash on city streets Saturday night.
Police say the victim, a passenger in a minivan hit by a CN freight train, sustained severe head injuries.
The driver, another 22-year-old, also sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Foothills Hospital.
It happened in the southeast around 9 p.m. at 68th Street near Applewood Drive.
Officials say lights and bells were working at the crossing.
Speed and alcohol are not being considered factors in the collision.
However, police believe the driver of the minivan failed to obey the crossing signals.
