Earth Hour happens this weekend

It’s been eight years since the WWF started the Earth Hour campaign, and over 170 countries are expected to participate in this year’s one hour event.
It happens Saturday night from 8:30 to 9:30p.m.
Participants are encouraged to turn off their lights and tweet using #momentofdarkness.
David Miller, President and CEO of WWF-Canada, said people should not only think about the problem of climate change, but tweet possible solutions.
“What we’re saying to people this year is turn your lights off for an hour during Earth Hour. Have some fun but also take a little bit of time in that moment of darkness to think about what you can do as a person and what we can do collectively in partnership with our government to make some real change to create a sustainable lifestyle that doesn’t impact nature and our planet,” he said.
EcoLiving will be holding an event Saturday at the Calgary area outdoor council building in the 1100 block of Memorial Drive.
