Three men are in hospital following a knife attack early Saturday morning at a downtown restaurant.
Detective Dale Seddon tells 660News they have no suspect, but a number of witnesses, following the incident around 3 a.m. at the You and Me restaurant in the 200 block of Centre Street South.
“There’s a large group of people” (witnesses), says Seddon. “We were able to identify three victims, three male victims who had” (been) “suffering stab wounds. They were transported to the hospital. The offender in this particular case fled the scene before police got there, and at this point the injuries are not life threatening.”
Police have little as far as leads are concerned, but they are getting help.
“At this point they are being cooperative,” notes Seddon of the witnesses. “We don’t have a motive. Initial indications (are) this is somewhat of a random incident, but again that’s just the preliminary investigation. We haven’t been able to speak the victims just yet because medical staff obviously to do their treatment with them.”
“At this point we’re not sure if the offender is known to the victims,” Seddon continues. “It doesn’t appear though that that’s the case. But it’s just too early in the investigation to be sure of that right now.”
He adds, police have dealt with incidents at that particular restaurant previously.
