Being a vegetarian doesn’t necessarily mean you are healthy: study

They may have a lower body mass index, but a new study suggests vegetarians are generally less healthy than their meat-eating counterparts.
Researchers in Austria looked at the dietary habits, demographic characteristics and general lifestyle differences of study participants.
They found vegetarians were twice as likely to have allergies, and had a 50 per cent higher risk of heart attacks and cancer.
The researchers say more studies are needed to substantiate some of the findings.
