Arthritis spike sign of lyme disease

Canada’s doctors are noticing a rise in arthritis cases in kids as ticks and the spread of Lyme disease further hits the country.

A study coming out of Halifax followed 17 child arthritis patients in the past two years.

According to The National Post, few of the patients even knew they had been bitten by a tick.

Complaining of swollen and painful joints many of the kids also suffered neurological problems.

An Ontario public health officer says there has been a five-fold increase in Lyme disease cases and many of the patients have also developed arthritis.

The study shows doctors are expecting more people will come down with the disease in the next few years as its starts to move further into Canada’s boarders.
