It’s that time of year when people are dusting off the drapes and getting into some serious spring cleaning.
Tammy Anderson, a Molly Maid Franchise Owner in the Calgary area, said more and more customers are looking for a clean that doesn’t involve harsh chemicals and is better for the environment.
She said there are a few products that people can probably make in their own kitchen.
“I think the top two would probably be baking soda and vinegar. White vinegar is able to kill most mold and bacteria and germs due to the acidity in it and baking soda dissolves the dirt and grease,” said Anderson,
She said .also says a lot of essential oils are also great to maintain your home.
She said, though there is a bit of a stigma to using natural products, they do work.
“Most of the time people don’t feel like they’re getting the clean that they want because you don’t think of vinegar having an agent in it that would kill bacteria or germs but you can use these products to keep your home clean and germ free.”
She said the scent alone in highly produced cleaners can have up to three-thousand chemicals in it and people with allergies usually find they are much better off cleaning with natural products.
