Sticking a toddler in front of the TV won’t make them as happy as handing them a box of crayons, according to a new study.
Oxford University researchers have found, active tasks like singing and arts and crafts lead to improved motor skills and speech, as well as making children happier.
Passive activities like looking at picture books or watching TV, don’t contribute to happiness or skill development.
The study’s lead author says too much TV actually had a negative impact on happiness, likely because it meant less time for other more active activities.
