Flooding in Alberta

The province has now issued a flood watch alert for areas in central Alberta.
Creeks in Kneehills County and Paddle Basin are at risk to overflow because of the above average snowpack combined with the above average temperatures over the past few days.
There are some areas where the water has already overflowed from creeks and rivers.
The River Forecast Centre says there are no reports of damage to homes or public infrastructure yet.
In Peace River, water levels are receding and the clean-up is now underway after a minor flood Tuesday night.
The northern Alberta community issued a voluntary evacuation order for 100 people after the Pat’s Creek spilled its banks.
On 5:07 p.m. Wednesday, Alberta Emergency Alert also sent out an alert about Wheatland County: “There are elevated water levels in streams, rivers, and other bodies of water that may create dangerous situations or lead to flooding.
The following roads are currently closed:
Township road 252 between range road 262 and 263.
Range road 243A Namaka road south west exit.
Range road 243 between township road 274 and 280.”
