Five people are now dead after a stabbing in the northwest community of Brentwood, at a house party involving university students.
Police and EMS were called to a home on Butler Crescent around 1:20a.m. Tuesday, where they found the bodies of three men in their late teens or early twenties.
Another man and woman were rushed to Foothills Hospital in critical condition, where they later died.
One man was taken into custody with the assistance of the K-9 unit.
He was transported to Rockyview Hospital, where he was treated for a dog bite before being transferred to police headquarters where he is now being questioned by investigators.
Neighbours are shocked, calling those who lived in the home, ‘nice, respectful young men.’
Doug says he noticed them having a bon-fire, but they moved it inside at dusk.
“By 10 o’clock they shut it down and moved it all inside, we didn’t even hear them.”
Another neighbour says it is a very safe street.
It’s believed students were celebrating “Bermuda Shorts Day,” otherwise known as the last day of school.
