Tensions grow between Harper, Obama as Keystone delayed

Another delay for the Keystone XL pipeline may have taken Stephen Harper and Barack Obama’s relations from cordial to frosty.
The National Post reports, back in 2011, Canada’s Prime Minister was frustrated when he received a call from the American president saying the project would be put on hold.
There’s been a familiar feeling this month.
In January, Harper told Bloomberg News, his relationship with Obama was good, but he added, “there are times when we do have to stand up in a way that’s not necessarily the same view as the American administration”.
Canada’s aggressive lobbying for the project in Washington has also rubbed Obama the wrong way.
