How does climbing 802 stairs sound?
That’s how many steps it is to the top of the Calgary Tower and over 1,500 people will be doing just that Saturday morning as the Alberta Wilderness Association hosts their 23rd annual climb and 12th annual Run for Wilderness.
Christyann Olson with the Alberta Wilderness Association said anyone and everyone can participate.
“It’s a great event for athletes, but even more so we have babies coming in backpacks and our 97 year old Richard Guy will be climbing again” she said.
The run started at 8:00a.m. with the climb portion from 8:30a.m. to 12:30p.m.
The morning also includes the Wild Alberta Expo where you can learn about the province’s wild places and the people who work to protect them.
