The secret to longevity is keeping busy and having a purpose.
A 14-year study by researchers at Carleton University found having something to do is key, especially after retirement.
It could be volunteer work, or ticking items off a bucket list.
They believe people with goals are more likely to adopt a healthy lifestyle in order to fulfill their ambitions.
The authors of the study also say you can predict a longer life to younger adults if they have a purpose.
The study is in the journal, “Psychological Science.”
