He’s already considered the front-runner in the race, but Jim Prentice will officially be announcing his campaign for leader of the Alberta PC Party Wednesday.

Prentice is holding two launch events: the first will happen in Edmonton at 9 a.m.

The Tory leader hopeful will then head to Calgary at 2 p.m. to continue the kick-off of his campaign.

Former Alberta Infrastructure Minister Ric McIver is still Prentice’s only opponent for the top job.

Leadership nominations close on May 30th.
