Burst pipe floods three Calgary businesses

Not a great start to the day Thursday for three business owners in the southeast.

Around 4 a.m. a water main broke in the 7700 block of Flint Road.

Acting Battalion Chief Fred Rogi said when crews arrived there was more than a foot of water on the floor.

“A 12-inch pipe had broken at a joint and caused the building the flood. So they got the key-holder there and pumped out as much as they could, and then contacted the building maintenance department and they took over the building,” said Rogi.

No injuries were reported and the extent of the damage is still be tallied.
