Chick-fil-A opens at YYC

A controversial American fast food joint has popped up at the Calgary International Airport.

Chick-fil-A opened its only restaurant in Canada Wednesday at YYC near the U.S. departures.

The franchise received a lot of backlash in the states in 2012, after its COO took a stance against gay marriage.

Chick-fil-A eventually avoided talking about politics, after a series of boycotts and protests.

However, the restaurant is still strongly influenced by southern Baptist beliefs, closing on Sundays.
