Red Deer RCMP experiencing acts of kindness

Amidst the heart-break in Moncton, is a heart-warming story up in Red Deer.

RCMP in that city have been experiencing an outpouring of support from people in that city in the days following the shootings in New Brunswick, where three officers were killed.

Corporal Sarah Knelson said they’ve been getting random acts of kindness from people who realize this is an incredibly tough time for first responders.

“Absolutely, they do seem to recognize that, and it is a hard time for the members here at the detachment as well as the staff that work at the detachment. It hits home when three of our own are tragically killed,” she said. “The support has been overwhelming”.

Knelson said cards, flowers, gifts and messages of sympathy have also been left at Red Deer detachments.
