Salvation Army ready to help flood victims

Southern Albertans were so generous during last year’s flood that the Salvation Army is still looking to hand out all of their donations.

They’ve launched a flood assistance program because they have about $1.8 million to give out. They have a policy that if the donation was earmarked for a certain disaster, then that is what it must benefit.

The organization’s Pam Goodyear described who’s eligible.

“Really anybody who has suffered significant loss with the flood, we’re not sure how many applications we’re going to receive, so we’ll be doing some allocation,” she said.

The application forms can be found on the Salvation Army website.

The deadline to apply is the end of July.
