According to the city, Barb Scott Park was created along 12th Avenue after extensive community consultation revealed a neighborhood park was needed.
It’s now home to one of Calgary’s newest pieces of art, the Chinook arch.
A ceremony is scheduled to take place Friday at noon, while a community celebration will get underway at 8p.m.
