Keep healthy by walking: study

If you’re not happy about growing old, start walking.

A recent study by Lifestyle Interventions and Independence for Elders, found those who got off the couch, went for a stroll and did some light, lower body weight training, were less likely to experience any episode of physical disability.

It recommends 150 minutes or two and a half hours of walking, and 30 minutes of weight training a week.

The people who participated in the sedentary study were between the ages of 70 and 89.
