A 13-year-old has been charged with second-degree murder, after a deadly robbery in the Marlborough Mall parking lot last week.
Just before midnight on Friday, June 20, 45-year-old Gabriel Okeynan was found with stab wounds, and transported to hospital.
He would die of his injuries on Tuesday.
A 16-year-old was arrested in the area shortly afterwards, and also faces charges of robbery and second-degree murder.
Staff Sgt. Colin Chisholm told reporters earlier this week, the attack appeared to be random, and the victim was cornered alone.
“We have no information to believe that the victim and the offenders had any previous relationship,” he said.
Neither teen can be named because of their ages.
Police are not looking for any other suspects in the case.
Anyone who might have witnessed the attack or has information about the case is encouraged to call Police or Crime Stoppers.
