NE Residents upset about plane noise

The Federal Conservative MP who represents the area is calling on Calgary International Airport to address noise concerns raised since the opening of its new runway.

People in northeast communities are complaining of large, low flying aircraft, sometimes so loud their homes shake.

In a release, Obhrai says he welcomes the new runway, and the benefits it will bring to Calgary as a growing international destination, but over the past week his office has received more than 50 complaints about the noise.

He’s calling on the Airport Authority to find a resolution with the affected communities as quickly as possible.

Northeast Calgary isn’t the only community impacted; people in parts of east Airdrie have also been complaining about the constant plane traffic over their homes.
